Noa The Game

Noa — a game for building habits, together.

Our game won't decide your habits, that's on you! The game helps you become the one who actually does them.

Noa, the neuron who guides you through the game

Why doesn't it stick?

We all know what we should do. Move more, sleep properly, put the phone down at night. Yet it doesn't happen, and laziness is rarely what stops us.

Can you build a habit on your own? Well, sure. But most likely it fails. That's how we humans work: inspired and motivated for a couple of weeks, then it feels flat and hollow and that's the end of it. There's nothing wrong with you. You've just been trying to do alone what we're built to do together.

When we create, work or study in groups (especially remotely) it shows even more. Engagement drops, despite wellness budgets and good intentions. What's needed is clear implementation!

That's why Noa is a co-op game!

We humans only have the energy to go deep in a few areas of life. In all the others we want to be shown the way, and preferably have some fun along the road. There are already good apps for people who love geeking out on routines and data. Noa is built for everyone else, for the crowd that would never open a health app on their own initiative.

Playfulness is what gets us to approach new areas. A game gets to be simple and voluntary, and that's exactly what a habit needs to survive its first two months.

How Noa is played.

1. Pick your habit.Which habit, why, and what has been in the way? Choose a ready-made track or build your own to fit your life. Your habit, not your boss's.
2. Report "Yes" or "No", every day.It takes a few seconds. And a "No" is not a failure: by reporting no you keep the habit in your awareness, and that's where the building happens.
3. Reflect with your group.A few people meet briefly and share how it has gone. Everyone gets 3–5 minutes, one at a time. The point is to speak freely without commenting on each other.

Count on about two months before the habit carries itself. Research says 59 to 66 days on average, and that matches everything we've seen. How it works →

Tested in a real company.

The method was built inside ENV Media, a Swedish-founded remote company with people in nine countries, and ran for two years before it became a standalone tool. Over those years revenue grew tenfold, the profit margin sat at 85 percent, and nobody resigned.

Was it the method that did all of that? No, of course not on its own. But read the case and see what happened to the people along the way.

I play too.

I've been building this for five years now. First inside my own company, then independently with pilot customers, with one expensive detour along the way when we built things too complicated and had to tear it up and start over. I'm still here because I've seen what happens when people build habits together.

It wasn't some measly 20 percent bump in efficiency for the people who stayed in the game, nope! They became whole new people and changed the entire playing field for us leaders.
